More often than not the heathkit’s SB-101 and other SB series radios tend to crack. The center metal piece was press fitted and I believe it was a bit too large for the plastic parts, all dials I’ve seen were cracked or broken. This is BAD because, without the dial the SB is inoperative.
Offcourse one of my sbs had a broken dial and it was shattered at the center.

I had to act quick before it was too late, epoxy glue to the rescue.
It took some puzzlling but I was able to get the center metal piece in place held by plastic bits, but in the correct position, then it was epoxy time.

Sad SB without its dial

Freshly applied glue, remember fill every crack.

A job that looks fine

Not pretty but fully functional.
